| Here are some of the photos that I took of last years crop. I had a late start this spring because I was recently married and spent 2 weeks in Mexico for our Honeymoon. The plants, unfortuatly were not my top priority, and they didn't make it to the garden until mid to late June. Although I started late, I had a fantasic yeild last fall. So good if fact, that I brought the healthiest plants indoors to continue growing throughout the winter, and I have all ready harvested 6lbs. of peppers! |

| Below is information and pics of my favorite plants from last years crop. They were as challenging as they were rewarding. This was my first garden and I took great pride in being able to say I sucessfully grew some of the worlds HOTTEST peppers on my first shot. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| 4" for a Jolokia isn't uncommon, but to have a full harvest this size is. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| The jolokia's were very hard to get started last year. Out of 40 seeds that were germinated, only 2 reached full maturity. I started them with the rest of my seeds in early Febuary and what started as a potential "field" of jolokia's slowly died off. By late June when I was ready to transplant the seedlings into the garden I only had 4. They were very "viney" and didn't have a very strong stem system. After a couple of weeks they began to thicken up, but for some reason only 2 of them took off. The other 2 ended up being so top heavy that they tipped over and snapped the stem. Lesson Learned: Peppers are a plant that will develop roots out of their stems. Every time you transplant them you should bury the stem up to the first cluster of leaves. This is what establishes thick foliage and a strong root and stem system. |

| Notice all of the blossoms. This is at the tip of a very thin branch. If all those mature, the branch will not support the weight. Hence the use of string. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
